LESSON 1: INTRODUCTION
LESSON 1: INTRODUCTION
SCRIPTURE
3 John 1:2
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
TEACHING POINTS
There are certain inviolable principles of the soul; they are like the laws of nature. If you jump out of a 20 story building, you will fall. If you violate a principle of the soul, there will be consequences - it will cause your soul to be sick.
- If someone hurts us, we need to forgive them, otherwise hurt and bitterness will grow in our soul and make our soul sick.
All of us are broken in our body, soul and spirit - that’s why we need Jesus!
Paul tells us that we need to take off our old self before we can put on our new self (Ephesians 4:22-24).
It takes two healthy people to have a healthy relationship.
- If we want to be transformed into the image of Jesus, we need to get rid of the things that disease our soul.
Most life change occurs when we are alone with God.
“Growing up” isn’t a matter of growing old; growing up is a matter of taking responsibility for our own life. You are the only one responsible for you.
APPLICATION
As you enter into this course, what are the things that come to mind that need to be unpacked from your soul? Make a commitment to not defend yourself and let the Lord address it.
