Welcome!

My name is Dr. Rob Reimer and I want to welcome you to my Soul Care Leaders Training Course for ministry. We want to equip you to be able to help other people find freedom in Christ.

It was during my marriage struggle that I discovered the principles of Soul Care. If you have not already been through the Soul Care eCourse, I highly recommend you go through that before starting this training on how to help others. It takes a healthy leader to help people become healthy. This course is specifically designed to help equip people in the practice of Soul Care ministries with others - to help them find freedom and fullness in Christ.

What will this eCourse cover and how can I best use it as a resource?

First, this is NOT an eCourse on how to do deliverance. More trainings, seminars, and workshops for deliverance ministry are available on our website, www.renewalinternational.org

Second, I will cover quite a bit on the heart and soul of a healthy Soul Care practitioner. A lot of people are drawn to do Soul Care with others, but they need to get healthy first. Some are drawn to this ministry because of their own pain and are trying to get healthy. Soul Care ministry can be draining, and it is hard. Soul Care ministers are often compassionate, merciful people who can find it difficult to get out from under the weightiness of people’s painful stories. To be effective as Soul Care practitioners, we have to learn how to take care of our own souls so that we do not burn out.

Third, I will cover culture. So much of discipleship is about changing culture. We are transitioning from our culture to the culture of the Kingdom of God. Culture is simply a set of norms: beliefs, attitudes, expectations, and behaviors that people conform to as normal. If you want Soul Care to take root and produce the fruit of freedom and fullness, then you are trying to establish it as a new culture. We will spend time talking about how to create a Soul Care culture that allows freedom ministries to flourish.

Fourth, we will spend a lot of time talking about how to hear God’s voice. Hearing God’s voice is essential for doing Soul Care ministry. We will be talking about the prophetic and how we can fine-tune your capacity to hear and relay revelation that you receive from the Lord with wisdom and maturity. Listening to his Father’s voice was a crucial part of Jesus’ ministry and it is a crucial part of doing ministry effectively for the Soul Care practitioner. The presence of God is critical to experiencing life change. When we hear God’s voice and relay an authentic prophetic word, it is accompanied with the presence of God. Hearing God speak is critically important to helping others to breakthrough. Theology 101: God is smart, and He knows stuff that I don’t know.

Fifth, we will talk about becoming effective Soul Care ministers by developing spiritual authority. Jesus gave his disciples authority to do the work of the Kingdom (Matthew 10). We can’t do deep life change ministry without spiritual authority. Soul Care ministry isn’t really about learning a bunch of techniques as much as it is about depending upon the Spirit, listening to His voice, and becoming people of authentic spiritual authority.

Sixth, we have to learn how to help people process through their issues. There is a big difference between talking about your problems and processing through problems to get to a breakthrough. Often we are talking about the same problem over and over, but we are not getting any better. That is because we are only talking, not processing. Processing leads to breakthrough.

Seventh, if we are going to be effective Soul Care practitioners, we need to get to the roots and not just address the fruits of our problems. Sin management and behavior management will not lead to life change. We need to address the issues of the heart and soul. My favorite Soul Care question is, “What’s underneath that? What is driving that behavior?” I’ll walk through some of the most common root issues and how to address those areas to bring people into freedom.

Advice for Success

You may need to revisit the material we cover for yourself and others. Our goal is not to just get through the course, our goal is transformation for our own lives, then for the people God has called us to work with. The Western world often relies on knowledge-based discipleship. But, Jesus was an obedience-based discipleship teacher. We need more than knowledge; we need experiences that lead us to breakthroughs, life-change, and obedience. Here is the bottom line: We need to make disciples who make disciples; and we need more tools in our tool bag than just teaching.

So many people are stuck in bondage and are living beneath their potential. We need skilled practitioners who can help people to break free.

Thanks for joining the ranks! Let’s get started together.
